The Electronic Birthday Card
In the Electronic Birthday Card pavilion, visitors were able to enter their birthday greetings to the Smithsonian at a computer terminal and then see their messages flash on a giant screen out on the Mall. The birthday wish will then enter the Smithsonian permanently, as part of its new electronic collections. (Smithsonian Photo by Dane A. Penland)
