America's Smithsonian, a traveling exhibition, featuring more than 150 treasures from the Smithsonian collections, began arriving in Los Angeles January 27, in preparation for its opening February 9.

Smithsonian photographers Jeff Tinsley, Hugh Talman, Richard Strauss and Eric Long were in Los Angeles to photograph this record-breaking exhibit.

Developed to celebrate the Smithsonian's 150th anniversary, this is the largest traveling exhibit ever produced.

From Los Angeles it will travel across the United States during 1996-1997. The exhibition features artifacts that are testaments to more than 300 years of America's cultural, social, scientific and artistic heritage.
