Sachem Skipper, Atalopedes campestris

Not as brilliantly colored as other Butterflies, Skippers are smaller and, at times, harder to see. Dusty gold wings keep them well enough disguised against the yellow spikes of this Coneflower. Skippers dart actively around drinking nectar from a wide variety of blossoming plants.
