Painting the Mural

Visitors to the inaugural events on the Mall were invited to make their mark on the American Journey Mural in the Smithsonian's S. Dillon Ripley Center. The mural was divided into smaller panels with the design by artist Jorje Somarriba outlined so visitors could paint in their own colors. The completed mural is being hung in the White House Visitor's Center.
