Ruth W. Spiegel
Managing Editor, Smithsonian Institution Press. Ruth joined the Smithsonian Press as a manuscript editor in 1975 and since has repeatedly demonstrated her abilities as an innovative, sensitive, and imaginative leader with a talent for attracting and developing committed and talented people. In addition to her many editorial accomplishments, Ruth is seen by subordinates, associates, and others as unfailingly generous, encouraging, empathetic, and compassionate. She is, in every sense, a quality leader.
